Grüß G-tt JCOM! Grüß G-tt 5779!
With the Jewish new year’s concert we present ourselves for the first time with our new name, but we remain true to our tradition and greet the year 5779 with a cantor concert.
For this special occasion we are very happy to announce the young cantor Itzhak Zelman from Israel und the internationally renowned star of the cantor scene Netanel Hershtik. Zelman recently enthused with its expressive appearance in Munich’s synagogue Ohel Jacob. Netanel Hershtik, who represents the 14th generation of one of the most famous cantor dynasties, is now our guest for the third time; already in the first Munich cantor concert four years ago he brought the audience in the Prinzregententheater into a happy new year’s mood in the middle of autumn – the season in which, according to the Jewish calendar, Rosh ha-Shana (literally: “head of the year”) normally falls.
Enjoy the stirring pieces of Jewish folk music and the festive music of the synagogue! Be a part of this rare musical experience that has become a living tradition in Munich! Shana tova – sweet new year!
